Moss vs. Middleton

Both ladies of leisure, born from parents who were high fliers - one's father being a travel agent, the other a flight attendant for British Airways - these two women even bear the same initials. One being once the anti-supermodel and the other the nation's new sweetheart in waiting - it is  of course the nuptials of Kate Moss and Middleton.

Whilst Moss has been the face of  over 50 magazine covers ( recently baring all for May 2011 Brazilian Vogue), she is also known for her high profile relationships and extreme party lifestyle. Yet don't be fooled by the regal Royal-to-be as Kate Middleton is planning on having the Palace converted into a club on the eve of the wedding. Impressive.

One is a self professed designer and  have fashionista friends such as Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney and the late great Alexander McQueen yet the other has not been seen as a designer's dream. Dame Vivienne Westwood recently commented, " I would have loved to have dressed Kate Middleton but I have to wait until she kind of catches up a bit somewhere with style." Ouch.

So what's your preference for a post- nuptial party? Cocaine Kate or Waity Katy?

Kate Moss

Hen Do? For a lady who celebrated her 30th with an 18 hour continual celebration - it is rumoured that Kate has ordered a 'Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' style frock. Katie Price eat your heart out.

The top table? The Primrose Hill set of Sadie Frost, Davinia Taylor and Pearl Lowe.

Venue? Set to be a 'mini Glasto' - members of Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Rolling Stones and Beth Ditto are rumoured to be attending and performing. Kate, whose future hubby is Jamie Hince of  The Kills, is clearly a rock and roll lady-in-waiting.

Chief Bridesmaid? Adorable 8 year old Lila Grace. Moss' daughter to Dazed and Confused Curator Jefferson Hack.

The Dress? Before Galliano opened his gob, he was set to be the designer of the dress. Yet it may be that the duty is given to Head of Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton to create the couture.

Kate Middleton

Hen Do? If Prince Harry had been in charge it may have been more of a giggle we're sure. It was a humble affair, with a reported quiet night in with close friends and matron on honour, sister Pippa.

The top table? Guests include Victoria and David Beckham, Elton John and Tara Palmer Tomkinson.

Venue? Westminster Abbey, a quick tour and kiss on the balcony, then back for a Palace party - Will's Granny is off to Sandringham to leave them to to it. Bless.

Chief Bridesmaid? Kate's sister Pippa.

The Dress? Vogue daily updates, designer's denials - this is the Nation's best kept secret since Imogen Thomas' affair. Haute-fly is placing it's bets on hotly tipped designer Issa.

What a Day for a Williamson Wedding!

Matthew Williamson may have made his vow exchange from ready- to-wear to bridal collections in 2010, yet it is this special week where his collection can gain the reception it deserves. Mancunian Matthew married together eloborate embellishment and silk chiffons to create an ever luxurious look.

Brides- to- be can capture their perfect moment in silk chiffon kaftans and beaded silk gowns which channel bohemian bride. The honeymoon hotspot is taken care of  too - change clothes and go - with the Ibizian inspired Escape collection.

Commenting earlier this year  that Miss Middleton "isn't a fashion bunny",Williamson has created an impressive independently designed cake for the occassion. Whilst he may not be designing for the Royal occassion, with a sold out bridal accessory line and successful line, Williamson can clearly have his cake and eat it.

The Super 6

Highly paid and internationally recognised model and muse, Cindy Crawford yesterday spoke out amongst her campaigns and contracts, on how difficult it was for models in 2011 to navigate themselves to the runway and commercial bookings.

" I do feel like an outsider now. I just saw a CoverGirl commercial with Taylor Swift. I just thought ' wow it is so hard for models to get a job these days, now you have to sing and act too'."

21 years ago on January 1990, Crawford, Campbell, Turlington and Patitz were central on Vogue's cover, signalling the era of the Super Model. From George Micheal's Freedom '90 video to books to dolls to wigs- these girls were the fashion superpowers and had the freedom to do whatever they wished for nothing less than $10,000 dollars a day.

Haute-fly pays duty where it is due to the original girl power.

Model Behaviour

"Lets get this damn straight. We are model agents". Winking through her blonde fringe and shaking her trademark silver bangles, this is Carole White, the model matriarch. A little more bookers banter than catwalk cat fights; endearing 'Aunty Carole'  and model muses of  Premier Model Management  reveal a snapshot of show week season in the Channel 4 documentary, The Model Agency.

Premier was founded in 1981 by then model-turned-booker Carole and her brother Chris Owen. Money clearly talks as it not merely trading between girls in the cut throat industry of fashion. The editorial and commercial agency is one of  London's best , with the siblings having orchestrated the Super Model phenomena of the early 1990s.

Head of Special Bookings Paul Hunt reveals, "Carole has dealt with recessions, major models leaving, major bookers leaving and she is that constant. Her and the Agency are one and the same thing."

White reveals her 'motherly monster' instinct throughout the 7 part series, which puts her broken friendship with Naomi Campbell in the camera focus. Carole comments," You spend your life nurturing these girls into models. Your product is not a bottle on the shelf, it talks back."

Which is the case with 16 year old India Farrell. Spotted at Manchester's Arndale Centre at the tender age of 12, Premier spent 4 years nurturing the child to the catwalk, until Farrell got cold feet or more apt, stage fright. Reflecting at the time, "I felt like I was in a thick fog and felt pressured. I felt like I wasn't good enough." After a little runaround, Farrell decides modelling is her chosen career path. She is definitely one to watch alongside Leomie Anderson and guy candy, Sebastian Sauve.

In amongst the childish camaraderie, wise cracks, temper tantrums and [ Senior Commercial Booker]
John's crocodile tears - watch the launch of Britain's home grown talent flourish in true fashion. Well worth a sneak peek...

Summer Sun

Empire of The Sun

With 170 acts from DJ Hype and High Contrast to Erykah Badu and Ellie Golding and Kings of Leon and Kanye, there was a lyrical ballad for all at Coachella's 2011 festival. Set in Indio, California with the backdrop of the desert, celebs from Vanessa Hudgens to Isabel Lucas came and celebrated the world's most fashionable festival in true cali style.

The look was very haute-hippie with celebrities and crowds alike looking ever so fresh and clean. Patriotic stripes, floating maxis, cut-off distressed denim and crochet crop tops were the festival flavour of the day. Haute-fly reveals our hot-picks...
